James Washington "J. W." Crawley

Only limited personal information was available on Bro. Crawley's life, as follows:
James Washington Crawley was born to Washington Morris and Mary Jane Crawley
in 1853, in Green County, Kentucky. He was educated in the public schools and
taught in Hart County Schools before entering the ministry.
We have no knowledge of the date or place of his conversion or his call to the
ministry.
He was married to Susan Ellen Tisdale, and to this union three daughters and five
sons were born: Bertha, Alva, Lucy, Carson, Morris, Henry, Dennis, and Sam
Crawley.
After entering the ministry, Bro. Crawley attended Southern Baptist Seminary in
Louisville, Ky. He helped to constitute five churches, in addition to Muldraugh Hill
which he pastored from 1903-1911. He pastored several other churches in this
area, including Stewarts Creek.
He served his Lord faithfully until he was called into His presence on January 7,
1917. He was buried in Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
