Mothers that has been blessed with a son or daughter born since Mother's Day (May 12, 2019) were recognized Sunday, May 16th, during the Morning Worship Service(s) at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. We missed out in the celebration of these new births last year while we were closed for the COVID-19 pandemic. We also failed to recognize these mothers this past Sunday during our Annual Mother's Day Recognition Service. All the children born the past two years, since Mother's Day 2019, will be recognized in the 10:00 and 11:15 a.m. services. The couple is registered at buybuyBABY, Amazon, and Walmart. The shower is hosted by: Jennifer Bland, Mindy Bright, Allison Hunt, Donna England, and Sarah England. Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church celebrated mothers during both Morning Worship Services on May 9, 2021. Each mother present was recognized and given a special gift from the church of a "Blessed is the Mother Who Walks with God" notebook and a carnation. "The Oldest Mother Present" was presented with corsage (1st Service: Betty Moore & 2nd Service: Faye Porter). "The Mother with the Most Children, Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren Present" was presented with a corsage (1st Service: Dinah Newcomb & 2nd Service: Wanda Buckler). A beautiful vase of flowers was given in recognition of "The Oldest MHBC Mother" at the age of 93, Helen Smith. Bro. Billy delivered a special Mother's Day message entitled, “I Remember Mother” with Biblical reference to Proverbs 31:10, 25-31. It was a blessed day at MHBC. Teresa Parrott, Missions Mobilization Coordinator for the Kentucky Baptist Convention, presented Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church with the 2020 KBC Missions Award on April 11, 2021 during the Morning Worship Services. MHBC has been recognized as one of the top ten churches in Kentucky with the largest increase in participation and missions giving from 2018 to 2019. Thank you, MHBC family and visitors, for supporting this ministry as we spread the Gospel. Pam Hendricks made public her decision to join Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church during the 11:15 a.m. Morning Worship Service on April 4, 2021 (Easter Sunday). She is a sister of Steve Hendricks. Easter Sunday morning, April 4th, culminated the events of Holy Week as we gathered to celebrate and worship our risen Savior! o A sunrise service began at 7:30 a.m. o Worship services in the sanctuary began at 10:00 and 11:15 a.m. o There was no evening service or activities. Members and visitors were asked to spend this time with family while recognizing the blessings from God and what He has done for us. On Good Friday, April 2nd, our sanctuary was open for prayer between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. During these hours, worshippers were invited to come on their own time and prayerfully journey—individually or in groups—through Christ’s path to the cross using Scripture, prayer and devotional art. Maundy-Thursday was held April 1st, at 6:30 p.m. We gathered around the Lord’s Table for a very special and unique time of worship that focused on the Last Supper. The Children’s Easter Egg Hunt was held on Wednesday, March 31st at 6:30 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall. Temperatures were taken at the door. Masks were required for all adults. Tables were set up in a covid friendly manner. Pizza, bagged chips and cookies were served by individuals wearing gloves. The children shared in a time of devotion while they ate. Due to the weather forecast, the egg hunt was done inside the church. It was a fun time for everyone. The Central Baptist Association Annual Spring Meeting was on March 28, 2021 at Thompsonville Baptist Church from 3:00-5:30 P.M. Bro. Billy delivered the sermon. Campbellsville University students and the youth were invited for a Subway sandwich lunch immediately following the 11:15 worship service in the gym/fellowship hall. Social distancing guidelines were followed. There was a drive-by birthday celebration for Michelle Gribbins on February 28, 2021 at 1:30. Everyone met at the Methodist Church across from Center Square on Spalding Avenue, in Lebanon to begin the drive. February 20, 2021: There will be limited access to the church tomorrow as the side steps and the ramps are still slippery from snow and ice. Everyone stay safe and warm! The plan is to get the main sidewalk and front steps leading into the church cleaned this afternoon so we can have our worship services tomorrow. He stood with his mother, Robin, as Bro. Billy recognized him and joyously shared his important decision to the congregation. Due to COVID-19 CDC recommendations for “social distancing” guidelines, the members of the church waved from their places in the pews instead of providing handshakes at the conclusion of the service. On Sunday, December 27, 2020, we collected our Annual White Christmas Offering during both Morning Worship Services at 10:00 and 11:15 a.m. We appreciated the very generous offering of $25,358.00 ($1,720.00 of this was given to designated funds). We will also collected canned and other nonperishable items that we normally collect during the “Hanging of the Greens” service that had to be cancelled. This year the items will be given to local school resource centers since the collection date for Brookhaven will have already passed. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing regulations, and our goal to do what we can to protect our members and visitors, the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, On December 24, 2020, was VIRTUAL this year. The service took place at 6:00 p.m. and was viewed on Facebook and Vimeo. The Lord’s Supper was observed during the service, using individually prepared communion cups that were provided to those present during either of the Worship Services on December 20, 2020. Bro. Steve Skaggs and Lidiane “Ms Ligi” Macedo (video-taped from her home in Brazil) shared their musical talents during the service with a message delivered by Bro. Billy Compton. Operation Christmas Child was done a little differently this year. There was not a packing

packing party due to COVID-19. Boxes were packed by individuals and brought to the church

on November 15, 2020 at which time they were prayed over in both services. 72 boxes were

collected and will be delivered to Stewart’s Creek Baptist Church in order to be shipped to

their destination.

A motion was made by the Parking Lot Sub-committee of the Vision 20/20 Committee at the Monthly Business meeting on March 4, 2020 to enter into agreement with Hayden Materials to blacktop the recently enlarged gravel area for a cost of $20,200. Three bids have been received and Hayden Materials provided the lowest bid and they have a good reputation for quality work. The blacktop will not be done until this summer. It was noted that there is almost $11,000 in the Parking Lot Fund that will be used to help pay for this project. The Fund will need to be left in place after this Phase II is completed because the sealing and striping of all the parking area will have to be done at an additional cost. Due to the fact that the motion is for between $15,000 and under $25,000 the motion will have to be tabled until the next Business Meeting on April 8, 2020 in which the final vote will be taken. On February 23, 2020, Rev Alan Witham was our guest speaker. We are considering funding church facility updates in the coming months and he gave a presentation of what that would involve. The Vision 2020 team, in consultation with appropriate committees, will make recommendations for church action. There a vote taken by paper ballot in a Special Called Business Meeting during the Morning Worship Service on March 1, 2020. The motion carried by 64% of votes taken by members present to enter into a capital campaign contract over the next 3-year period with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, with Alan Witham as the consultant. Darrell Dye made public his Profession of Faith decision during the Morning Worship Service at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church on February 23, 2020. His wife, Amanda, also made the decision to move her membership to MHBC. Both were congratulated and welcomed by the congregation. He will be baptized at a later date. A church-wide "Shaped to Serve" retreat took place at Barren River State Park on February 21-22, 2020. The guest presenter for the Saturday morning sessions was Rick Howerton, the Kentucky Baptist Convention leader of Church revitalization Team. The event was a great time of fun, fellowship, and with a goal to improvie relationships to God and each other. There was a presentation on February 16, 2020 during the Evening Worship Service by Roger McCurry from Koinonia Travels as he took those present on a tour of Israel and the Holy Land. A trip is being planned for November 2020 for anyone interested. Brochures were made available for all interested. On February 16, 2020, the youth hosted their Annual Valentine’s Day Spaghetti Meal following the morning worship service. There was no charge for the meal but donations were accepted. On Sunday, December 22, 2019 , we collected our White Christmas Offering during the morning worship service. A total of $17,002.63 ($12,765.63 to the regular fund and the rest of the money designated to special funds). On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, we went Christmas Caroling to the shut-ins in our community at 6 P.M. On Sunday, December 15, 2019, the Sanctuary Choir will presented their Christmas cantata, “Celebrate Christmas”, during the evening worship service at 6 P.M. The Golden Days Senior Adult Group met on Thursday, December 12th at 12 noon in the church fellowship hall for their regularly scheduled meeting. They began with a potluck meal and the meat was provided. After the meal they had their annual White Elephant Auction. Those who participated in the auction were asked to bring three (3) wrapped items per person to be auctioned. Our “Hanging of the Greens” Service was held on November 24, 2019 at 6 P.M. Many church members took part in the decorating of the sanctuary.
