Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Roger Dale Barnett upon his death on March 25, 2020 at the age of 70. Parrott & Ramsey in charge of details. He became a deacon at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church on October 21, 1990 and was ordained by Bro. Vic Stansbury. He was a faithful servant of God and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Kathleen (Masters) Tingle upon her death on March 16, 2020 at the age of 91. She was the sister of Josephine Holderman. On February 23, 2020, Rev Alan Witham was our guest speaker. We are considering funding church facility updates in the coming months and he gave a presentation of what that would involve. The Vision 2020 team, in consultation with appropriate committees, will make recommendations for church action. There a vote taken by paper ballot in a Special Called Business Meeting during the Morning Worship Service on March 1, 2020. The motion carried by 64% of votes taken by members present to enter into a capital campaign contract over the next 3-year period with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, with Alan Witham as the consultant. Darrell Dye made public his Profession of Faith decision during the Morning Worship Service at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church on February 23, 2020. His wife, Amanda, also made the decision to move her membership to MHBC. Both were congratulated and welcomed by the congregation. He will be baptized at a later date. A church-wide "Shaped to Serve" retreat took place at Barren River State Park on February 21-22, 2020. The guest presenter for the Saturday morning sessions was Rick Howerton, the Kentucky Baptist Convention leader of Church revitalization Team. The event was a great time of fun, fellowship, and with a goal to improvie relationships to God and each other. There was a presentation on February 16, 2020 during the Evening Worship Service by Roger McCurry from Koinonia Travels as he took those present on a tour of Israel and the Holy Land. A trip is being planned for November 2020 for anyone interested. Brochures were made available for all interested. On February 16, 2020, the youth hosted their Annual Valentine’s Day Spaghetti Meal following the morning worship service. There was no charge for the meal but donations were accepted. The funds raised of $1,195 will help the youth attend Crossings Camp this summer. On Sunday, January 26, 2020, we had our birthday celebration lunch following the morning worship service. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Deborah Bloyd Colburn upon her death on January 18, 2020 at the age of 65. She was the sister-in-law of Evelyleen Taylor. Newcomer Funeral Home in Louisville in charge of arrangements. On Tuesday, December 24, 2019, we had our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service and observe the Lord’s Supper at 6 P.M. On Sunday, December 22, 2019 , we collected our White Christmas Offering during the morning worship service. A total of $17,002.63 ($12,765.63 to the regular fund and the rest of the money designated to special funds). On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, we went Christmas Caroling to the shut-ins in our community at 6 P.M. On Sunday, December 15, 2019, the Sanctuary Choir will presented their Christmas cantata, “Celebrate Christmas”, during the evening worship service at 6 P.M. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Robert Hoskins “R. H.” Weatherford upon his death on December 13, 2019 at the age of 91. He was Chris Morrison’s great uncle. The Golden Days Senior Adult Group met on Thursday, December 12th at 12 noon in the church fellowship hall for their regularly scheduled meeting. They began with a potluck meal and the meat was provided. After the meal they had their annual White Elephant Auction. Those who participated in the auction were asked to bring three (3) wrapped items per person to be auctioned. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Imogene Benningfield upon her death on December 3, 2019 at the age of 78. She was Ronnie Ray Benningfield’s mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Nancy Marilyn Smith upon her death on December 2, 2019 at the age of 89. She was Shea Poff’s Grammy. Our “Hanging of the Greens” Service was held on November 24, 2019 at 6 P.M. Many church members took part in the decorating of the sanctuary. Non-perishable food and misc. items were collected for the Brookhaven Mission during this service. Also, a Freewill Offering was collected for the Brookhaven Mission. We enjoyed our annual Thanksgiving Meal in the church fellowship hall on November 17, 2019 at 6 P.M. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Clarence Elbert Stapp upon his death on November 15, 2015 at the age of 91. He was the brother of Ray Stapp. Thank you to all our veterans. A special recognition was given to all the veterans present during the Morning Worship Service on November 10, 2019: Thomas Moore, Robert Farmer, Jim Sabo, Sr., Joe Brown, Jim Bob Moore, and Cameron Gaines. Also, the veterans who have passed away in the past year were recognized: William E. Benningfield, Lyle Thomas Farmer, William Howard Farris, Joseph Paul Helm, Everett “Les” Richerson, and Ernest Carol Taylor. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of William E. “Billy” Benningfield upon his death on November 4, 2019 at the age of 76. He was a Vietnam War Veteran . The annual Trunk ‘N Treat event was on Wednesday, October 23rd at 6:00 P.M. This event is always a good time to be had for ALL ages. The youth had a Chili Supper as a fundraiser for Winter Xtreme. Thank you to all the volunteers who furnished the amazing trunks and treats: those that helped with the refreshments; and those serving with the security to keep our church family, grounds, and visitors safe. Betty Moore was recognized during the Morning Worship Service on September 15, 2019 for her 43 years of service as a Sunday School teacher. She retired this church year. Thank you, Betty! The Annual Men’s Skeet Shoot was held on September 14, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. Congratulations to Makayla Sabo and Caden Wheatley on their marriage on September 7, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. We extend our Christian love and sympathy to the family of Brian Mills upon his death on September 9, 2019 at the age of 58.
