•We had our Annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on December 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Bro. Steve Skaggs returned for the evening to us to lead the service.•Posted December 31, 2017: Thank you to everyone that contributed to the supplies collected for the Care Packages for the Taylor Regional Hospital chemotherapy patients. Your generous gifts helped to fill over 30 Care Packages! The staff and patients were very appreciative of your kindness!

•We collected our Annual White Christmas Offering on December 17, 2017 during the Morning Worship Service. Thank you to everyone that gave so generously! The total amount received was $21,768.85!!!
The “Golden Day’s” Group Meeting was on Thursday, December 14, 2017 beginning at noon. The meal was potluck with
the church providing the meat. They had their 10th Annual White Elephant auction with Jim Sabo, Sr. as the auctioneer.
Each person attending was asked to bring at least three (3) wrapped items for the auction. The money from the auction
will go to the Marion and Taylor County Backpack Programs in their schools to help fight hunger. If you are 60 years old or
older and want to have a fun filled time, then this is the meeting you need to attend. Come and bring a friend. The
meetings are every other month.
We had our Annual Christmas Caroling Event on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. One group went to Lebanon and another group to Campbellsville. What a great way to spread joy during the Christmas season! Refreshments were enjoyed afterwards!

According to Kim Benningfield Skaggs, during our "Noisy Offering" on December 10, 2017,
the RA’s and GA’s collected (approximately) 412 Quarters, 814 dimes, 446 nickels, 3,650
pennies, 2 $5 bills and 22 $1 bills. They had already collected $200 (20,000 pennies) for the
“Mile of Pennies” (84,440 pennies needed or $844) so once we get an official count from the
bank, we will be able to send Sunrise Children's Services a check for (at least) $475.20. Thank
you all so much!
•The GA’s and RA’s (all kids 2-12) had a Christmas Party at the church on December 6, 2017 starting at 6:00 P.M.•Tony Yocum was baptized by Bro. Al Hardy during the Morning Worship Service on December 6, 2017.
The Safety “Security” Team met for the first time on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. This Team is being
formed to look into what is needed to better protect the members and visitors on the church property. Fourteen men and
women attended the meeting. The guest speaker was Travis Begley. He is the head of the security team at Elkhorn Baptist
Church in Campbellsville, Kentucky and is a 16 year veteran of the Campbellsville Police Department.
•The “Hanging of the Greens” Service was held on Sunday night, November 26th at 6:00 p.m. The church was gradually decorated as the the meaning of Christmas was explained for each item of decoration. Then the AWANA children presented the scene of the nativity as Bro. Al Hardy read the Christmas story from Luke 2:1-20.Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Robert Anthony “Tony” Gribbins upon his death on November 24, 2017. He was the brother of Misty Gribbins Franklin and step-father of Waylon Mays. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Iva Richerson Hardesty upon her death on November 19, 2017. At the beginning of the Sunday Morning Worship Service on November 5, 2017, a “Special Business Meeting” was called by the Moderator, Ernest Carol Taylor, for the purpose of formulating the Pastor Search (Pulpit) Committee. The deacons distributed ballots with the names of 20 individuals who had been nominated, and had agreed to serve, over the previous two weeks, to each church member present . The five people receiving the largest number of votes that would constitute the Pastor Search (Pulpit) Committee included the following: Charlotte Benningfield, David England, Margaret Pyles, Jim Sabo, Jr., and Don Veatch.In Honor of Veterans Day, all the veterans present during the Morning Worship Service on November 5, 2017 were recognized and honored. Each of them was presented an American Flag as an expression of our thanks for his service to our great country. Those honored were: Tom Moore, Ernest Carol Taylor, Robert Farmer, Jim Bob Moore, Jim Sabo, Sr., and David Mays. •The Annual Trunk-N-Treat event took place on October 25, 2017. The weather was a little chilly but it did not damper the fun and fellowship as the church family and community friends gathered to enjoy the activity on the church grounds. From all estimates, there were over 300 people participating in the event (approximately 160 children). Thank you to everyone that made the event possible, including those providing decorated trunks, those that donated goodies, those who helped with parking and making the facility and grounds as safe and organized as possible. Thank you to everyone that prepared and served the food, helped with setting up and cleaning up of the area and for all the families that brought their children out to participate in the fun.
