At the beginning of the Sunday Morning Worship Service on November 5, 2017, a “Special Business Meeting” was called by the Moderator, Ernest Carol Taylor, for the purpose of formulating the Pastor Search (Pulpit) Committee. The deacons distributed ballots with the names of 20 individuals who had been nominated, and had agreed to serve, over the  previous two weeks, to each church member present . The five people receiving the largest number of votes that would constitute the Pastor Search (Pulpit) Committee included the following: Charlotte Benningfield, David England, Margaret Pyles, Jim Sabo, Jr., and Don Veatch. In Honor of Veterans Day, all the veterans present during the Morning Worship Service on November 5, 2017 were recognized and honored. Each of them was presented an American Flag as an expression of our thanks for his service to our great country. Those honored were: Tom Moore, Ernest Carol Taylor, Robert Farmer, Jim Bob Moore, Jim Sabo, Sr., and David Mays.

The Annual Trunk-N-Treat event took place on October 25, 2017. The weather was a little chilly but it did not damper the fun and fellowship as the church family and community friends gathered to enjoy the activity on the church grounds. From all estimates, there were over 300 people participating in the event (approximately 160 children). Thank you to everyone that made the event possible, including those providing decorated trunks, those that donated goodies, those who helped with parking and making the facility and grounds as safe and organized as possible. Thank you to everyone that prepared and served the food, helped with setting up and cleaning up of the area and for all the families that brought their children out to participate in the fun. What a great way of showing God's love with fun and fellowship!
